"Fight off disbelief: you'll do me a
favor." (Lautreamont)
Lautreamont Concerts is a
dynamic international ensemble composed of some of the finest musicians in New York.
The New
York Sun praised Lautreamont Concerts for the "quality of its
interpreters", and TimeOut NY selected
one of its concerts as a
Critics Pick in Feb. 2010.
Formed in 2005 by violinist
Steven Zynszajn with some of his closest colleagues from the Juilliard
School, they
have
performed over forty
programs throughout the New York area, including concerts at the French
Consulate,
New York
Historical Society, Steinway
Hall, a residency at the Chelsea Art Museum in 2007-2008, as well as a
performance in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. Lautreamont Concerts
offers programs of the sort one might
have encountered in a golden
ageof classical
music: a selection of solo and chamber works,
concerti for strings
and
piano, as well as transcriptions and new works. They also have a particular affinity for the Tango.
Lautreamont Concerts is a non-profit
organization dedicated to bringing performances
tohealth-care facilities
in New York, and to
collaboration in the areas of music therapy and neurological
research.
